The collection contains a store ledger for 1909, a deed for 2 shares of Brown-Knox stock, an advertisement, and a broadside notice of a Commissioner's Re-Sale of Real Estate. The store ledger lists the names of Davidson residents and their purchases. The broadside describes the land on which the building stood and the history of ownership of the land. Scope and Contents The collection consists of the handwritten copies of the papers Mrs. Thies gave as programs for the Twentieth Century Book Club. Some files also contain clippings and illustrative material used in for the papers. The file on Elizabeth Gray Vining contains correspondence from Ms. Vining. While the papers are primarily on literary topics, there are papers on the Japanese internment during World War II, on conditions in Siberia in 1927and Manchuria in 1933, and on social issues such as divorce....
